Adventures in A New Wonderland

The story is pretty unique in that Alice is a grown woman working in a fashion design house where her boss treats her terribly. She's supposed to go overseas and interview a designer that no one can ever get to talk to thus making sure she can be fired.

She gets to a construction site and sees a frog in a waistcoat and follows him, falling down a hole and entering a very changed Wonderland. The hold is lined with various fashions. The doors in the door corridor are shaped like shoes, hats, etc. She manages to enter the garden of talking flowers, all of whom have designer names.

She comes across the tea party and then the main theme of the book is shown. There is a Purple Queen who rules with an iron fist and who wears the most atrocious clothing and expects everyone else to wear the same type of thing.

It turns out that Alice has been in Wonderland many times before but remembers none of it. She is going to have to face the Purple Queen's monster and defeat it and the rest of the book deals with how the resistance movement is gotten together, what strange beings and friends she makes and how the final major battle between the two groups plays out.

The book was surprisingly good.
