Alice in Wonderland: The Masterpiece Edition, Special Features

In addition to the marvelous animated film itself there are a load of special features in this particular edition.

The first disc has the following features:

Virtual Wonderland: over fifteen short songs and activities for rather young children.

The Unbirthday Song: sing-along song. These sing along songs show the appropriate scene from the movie, then have the words superimposed.

All in the Golden Afternoon sing along song. Same as the above.

Adventures in Wonderland set-top game. This is an actual game of concentration using 32 cards included with the disc set. The disc thing is something else entirely, consisting of several rooms, the first room answering five very simple questions. The next room is matching some cards. The next room is choosing the right combination of cookies to eat.

I'm Odd, a newly discovered Cheshire Cat song.

Thru the Mirror: A Mickey Mouse animated short.

Special features found on the second disc:

One Hour in Wonderland (Walt Disney's first television show) 1950. It starts off with a commercial for Coca Cola. Then Edgar starts telling Charlie the story of Alice in Wonderland. He only tells a very abbreviated version of just part of the story.

The girl that was the voice of Alice is there. Walt shows a 'magic mirror' that grants requests. Alice asks for one particular song from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, than Charlie asks for something and gets a Mickey Mouse cartoon. Another person asks for an Uncle Remus story and gets the Zip-a-de-do-dah song and then there's a Brer Rabbit cartoon.

Then there's another Coca Cola commercial. Then there's a Pluto cartoon. Then there's a segment about the Firehouse Five band. Then the kids ask to see a little of Alice in Wonderland.

The next thing is An Alice Comedy: Alice's Wonderland. A 1923 pilot film for a comedy series. This is a silent picture, of course, and is not badly done considering the time. It does end suddenly, though, and I'm wondering if part of the film showing the very ending didn't survive.

There are also theatrical trailers and Walt Disney introductions, all relating to Alice in Wonderland.
