The Looking Glass Wars

This is a fascinating and complex story. From the traditional story of Alice in Wonderland we have Wonderland many of the creatures that are there, but they are quite different. Wonderland also seems to be on another planet or in another dimension as it has two suns.

Alice is really Princess Alyss, who has to flee Wonderland and ends up on Earth, living with the Liddels, so that's where that part of the story comes in. The Red Queen (Redd) has taken over Wonderland and she makes dictators like Stalin look like nice guys.

The war uses a variety of weapons conjured up by the power of imagination, both White Imagination and Black Imagination. Princess Alyss has a group of supporters, one of whom is the Hatter. Her task is to get back to Wonderland, meet up with her supporters, regain her belief in the power of her White Imagination, and take on Redd and her entire army.

And this is just the first is an entire series of books. Very interesting take-off on Alice in Wonderland.
