Alice in Wonderland Complete Summary and Analysis

The book starts out with a brief biography of Lewis Carroll. This is followed by a summary of the story. Then he goes into brief descriptions of the characters from the story. The author says the story represents the challenges Alice will face as she grows into an adult.

This is followed by an examination of the various themes of the story. These include the process of growth from childhood to adulthood, size change, death, games/learning the rules; and language and logic/illogic. All of these, of course, have to do with learning how to grow up, making internal changes, and learning how to adapt to things.

Then the author goes into a summary and then an analysis of each chapter of the book. His analysis of the first chapter revolves around a child learning about rules and consequences mixed with allusions to Alice's own eventual death. A lot of the story revolves around change and adapting to it.

The book then just ends with no specific conclusion.
