The Art of Alice in Wonderland

Hardback. The book is an analysis of the Alice in Wonderland story with lots of artwork from various illustrators. The main problem with the book is the way it is printed. The informational material is printed over artwork. In some cases this works but in most cases it makes it difficult to read the written material. That's a pet peeve of mine in books. I like to be able to read fairly easily what is written and not have to try to mentally block out various distracting elements.

As to the artwork itself, whether or not a particular piece of art is good or not is really up to the individual, at least in my opinion. I like a lot of the artwork in the book, especially since there is such a variety of it. On the other hand there are a number of pieces that I really don't care for.

I really think that the book would have been much better if the written material had been placed in one area and the artwork either interspersed among the written pages or put in a section of its own.
