Behind the Looking Glass: Reflections on the Myth of Lewis Carroll

The topics the book talks about in relation to the writings of Lewis Carroll include Dualism, Gnosticism, theosophy, transcendental physics, Cartesianism, Rosicrucanism, Freemasonry, Orphism,Platonism and neo-Platonism, among others. There is also a Carrolian introduction to philosophy and a bibliography.

The author does talk about Carroll's interest in the theater and in photography.

Frankly, I found the book boring. I think the author has done an academic paper (it reads like a thesis) and is putting layers of meaning where there very well might not be anything that complicated to his works. I do agree that his works have some kind of meaning to them, other than being quite enjoyable (except for the Sylvia and Bruno books which I found boring), but I don't feel it's anywhere near as complicated as the book makes out.
