Curious Alice

This is an 'educational' film to warn public school children about the dangers of drugs, narcotics, psychedelics, alcohol and various other things. It's dated 1968. It shows. Kids watching this film today would be rolling on the floor laughing it's so bad and dated. It was also very obviously done as cheaply as possible.

It's also interesting they are using Alice in Wonderland for their background since there are people who believe that story really was about a drug-induced trip. They are use parts of the original dialogue from the story.

There are still girls and boys whose curiosity leads them to strange places, says the movie.

Alice finds a medicine cabinet near the bottom of the rabbit's hole. Then she finds another cabinet, this one with prescription medicines. The first was full of stuff like aspirin.

Then she finds a cigarette machine.

Then she finds a cabinet full of liquor.

Drug paraphernalia.

A 'special effects' scene.

She's about to try some pills to change her height when the Cheshire Cat asks her if she knows that the pills are. (This film is so bad I'm thinking about music for its soundtrack. White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane would fit here.)

She meets the caterpillar. He's smoking pot. (Mello Yellow would fit here.)

Then she sees an H and the Cheshire Cat tells her it could stand for heroin or habit.

The King has a syringe.

She gets to the tea party. (Don't Come Around Her No More by Tom Petty here.)

Alice says she's a little tired and the March Hare wants her to try some uppers. He's tapping his foot constantly, by the way.

The dormouse asks if she uses downers.

The Hatter has been using LSD.

Then Alice wakes up. She had, through her entire adventure, refused to take any of the bad things she was offered.
