Lewis Carroll in Wonderland and at Home

1910.

Chapter 1 discusses his life as a child and his family tree.

Chapter 2 covers his scholarly nature and his time at Rugby where he was subjected to bullying.

Chapter 3 Covers his time at home during the holidays and the early writing he did for his family.

Chapter 4 is about his time at Oxford including some history of the school. He had to get up at 6:15 with breakfast at 7 and chapel at 8. In contrast to other books this one says he was a good math teacher but everything else I have read said he was a boring teacher.

Chapter 5: More early writings and his interest in photography.

Chapter 6: His trip up the river with Alice Liddell and the story of the making of the book.

Chapter 7: More on Alice and the concept of nonsense.

Chapter 8: Bruno's Revenge, his trip to Russia and Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Chapter 9: More about Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Chapter 10: The Snark and other poems.

Chapter 11:Games, riddles, puzzles and logic.

Chapter 12: Specific other young girls he knew. Influences in his life, his reverence for holy things, his fondness for math, his love of little girls.

Chapter 13: Alice on the stage and off and his friendship with Isa Bowman.

Chapter 14: More on Sylvia and Bruno, his writing of it and the statement that 'he pleased no one' with it.

Chapter 15: He was old-fashioned in many of his ideas.

The book may be long in the tooth but it's well done and probably one of the best and most complete biographies on him.
