There's No Place Like Homecoming

This is a prequel book to a series. Dorothy and Alice are both grown-up women who are going to a homecoming of sorts. The two girls are est friends. Alice has a boyfriend in a band. Dorothy has not had good luck with guys. Her ex is none other than Tarzan which is where things begin to get unnecessarily unusual.

Dorothy takes a friend of hers to act as her 'fake' date, not knowing the guy has a major crush on her. Tarzan, who has split with Jane, wants Dorothy back (he left her for Jane). Frankenstein is also in the story, having made an android of hi dead wife. Cupid, Prince of Charming, Snow White, Cassanova and Aphrodite are all also in the story. Tarzan proposes to Dorothy and she turns him down.

The story also makes up only 98% of the ebook it is in.

This is a very good example of how not to start off a series. None of the extra (unusual) characters are really necessary to the story. They could all have been replaced by regular human beings without any major change in the story (actually, it probably would have improved the story.) Nothing that happens is very unusual, and none of it is tied in to Wonderland or Oz (except for some memories of things by Dorothy.)

Not good. Not good at all.
