This is the fourth book in this excellent series about a girl named Alice who lives as an inmate in an insane asylum and teams up with Professor Pillar to fight monsters that have escaped from Wonderland and are causing death and chaos in our world.

The book starts off with a person who either is or is passing himself off as the original Lewis Carroll. The guy claims to release a virus that will drive people mad and within days kill almost everyone on the planet.

There's also a prophecy about a girl named Alice returning to Wonderland and ending a group called Black Chess which consists of evil beings. We still have the Wonderlander impersonating the Queen of England, a place called mushroomland (consisting of drug pushers and growers) and we find out at least one of the very dark secrets from the Pillar's past.

Even the Nazca lines are in the story along with a discussion about the nature of truth. Another really good book in this must-have series.
