Avril Lavigne Interview on Her Song for Alice in Wonderland

She says she was working on a clothing design and was interested in Alice in Wonderland. She contacted them about doing a song for the movie and they accepted her idea. She watched some clips from the movie to get an idea of just what she wanted to do in the song.

She says in writing a song she starts with the chords, finds something musically she likes, and the melody comes to her. The lyrics are the last part of the song she works with.
