Hardback, 1995. The book has a chapter on Lewis Carroll along with chapters on Edward Lear, J.M. Barrie, Kenneth Grahame and A.A. Milne.

In the chapter on Lewis Caroll the book's author notes that the Alice books '...celebrate rebellion and chaos, point no morals, rejoice in freewheeling thought.'

The chapters go into the history of the various writers, how their writing related to Victorian and Edwardian cultures and various problems in their personal lives.
