Mad Hatters and March Hares

Paperback, 334 pages, anthology.

Most of the stories in this volume I really like. The stories include:

1. Gentle Alice: Good story.
2. My Own Invention: From the viewpoint of the White Knight. Another good story.
3. Lily White: Ruby Red, vorpal roses, silk caterpillars and giant oyster with stolen armor. Also really good.
4. Conjoined: A Barnum circus where the Tweedles, originally conjoined, have been separated. Includes the Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit. Good.
5. Mercury: The Duchess is a racketeer. Alice's father is in debtors prision and she stays with him. A very sad but good story.
6. Some Kind of Wonderland: This ones about a (fictional) film about Alice in Wonderland the people who made the film being at a special showing. Good.
7. Alis: Alice is studying math in grad school. It's a horror story and doens't really need the Alice in Wonderland characters. It would stand on its own.
8. All the King's Men: A bad Humpty Dumpty who has to be put together again. If anyone wants to, that is.
9. Run, Rabbit: Trafficking in little girls. Good story.
10. In Memory of a Summer's Day: There's a Wonderland Park where people can go down a rabbit hole. Some disappear, though.
11. Sentence Like a Saturday: Alice is really a cat but ends up in our world. What is her future now? Good.
12. Worrity, Worrity: A story about Sir John Tenniel. Good.
13. Eating the Alice Cake: Alice's job is to clean the houses of people who have just died. She meets and talks to a mock turtle. She's not well mentally. Good.
14. The Queen of Hats: Alice falls into a wardrobe where she meets some theatrical people, sort of people, that is.Good.
15. A Comfort, One Way: From the Duchess' viewpoint. Good.
16. The Flame After the Candle: Olive is the character, living in Wales. She cleans a mirror and falls into a forest. This one I don't care for.
17. Moon, amd Memory and Muchness: Is Alice dead? Another I don't like.
18. Run, Rabbit, Run: A poem that I don't like.
