Wonderland: The Realm Series Book 1

This is the first in a series of books about a group of characters from various stories that turn out to be real people. Alice from Wonderland, Jack from the Beanstalk, Red from Little Red Riding Hood, Kai from The Snow Queen, Celeste (the White Queen) and others. Then there's the regular Wonderland characters but somewhat different. The Red Queen/Queen of Hearts is totally evil and vicious in this version, though.

In the beginning Alice is in the Facility where various characters have been kept againt their will. She's able to escape only to find that her Wonderland is different now, very different. Her task is to unite with her friends, find the Wonderland resistance movement and attack the Queen's castle, freeing the Mad Hatter and hopefully removing the Queen from power.

There's major battles, lots of creatures from the original stories and some elements from the Once Upon a Time television series. It falls into the 'Alice has to save Wonderland from evil' group of adaptations and somewhat better than the average story that falls into that group.
