Rulers of Wander-land

This is another version of Alice in Wonderland. In this case a girl named Alice is in college. There's a guy named Wilson Rabbition who is a major character and a philosophy professor who talks about Wander-land. Naturally Alice ends up there.

Takeoffs on the original include a snark boat, Gavin the Gryphon, the Duchess, Dorothy Mouse, the Dodo and so on. The Walrus and the Carpenter are pirates. The TARTS are, this time, not edible. Instead they are the Time and Relativity Trap Sensors which were stolen. Father William is the spiritual leader of the resistance and he's also known as the Caterpillar. Chelsea Kate is the Cheshire Cat and Humphrey Dumphry takes the place of Humpty Dumpty. An unbirthday in this world means it's your death day.

There are two major groups that are going to have a war but, before doing that, they have a party together. The Trial turns out to be really interesting in its variation from the original.

What the author manages to do is make changes from the original which actually work out fairly well. It's a pretty good book.
