Alice in Sunderland

This is one of the most fascinating books I have read. It's in the form of a graphic novel and covers a tremendous amount of information about the area where Lewis Carroll lived, it's origin, the various invasions, important historic people (such as The Venerable Bede who came up with the B.C./A.D. organization of historical events).

The ancestors of Alice's family are detailed (quite detailed). Various actual heroes appear as do some tragedies including the death of 183 children in a stampede at the Victoria Hall. There are even ghosts and comedians in the book. There is just so much that it's almost impossible to cover all the various wondrous and fascinating things covered in this book. If you like Alice in Wonderland and things related to that or are just interested in the history of part of England then this is an absolute must book to get.
