Alice Takes Back Wonderland

This is a thoroughly amazing book. It takes place ten years after Alice had gone to Wonderland and returned. Alice is in a mental hospital in Missouri. The White Rabbit appears to her and ends up pushing her down the rabbit hole.

She finds out that Wonderland is in major difficulty with the Ace of Spades basically trying to remake Wonderland into what the above land, ours, is like. (Big mistake, really.)

It also turns out that Wonderland and our world are connected in a way as beings that becoming mythical and/or legendary can occur in physical form in one of the two areas but can also appear in the other area as an 'echo.'

The Ace is capturing main Wonderlanders and taking the 'wonder' out of them. There's only one way to do that and that is to do away with him.

Which will require an entire army to accomplish. An army which will include characters such as Paul Bunyon, Davy Crockett, Odysses, SnowWhite, Robin Hood, King Arthur and other similar beings.

Also, you can throw on, not on their side, of course, the jabberwock. Oh, yes, you can also add Cthulu to the mix.

It's a type of book that could easily fall apart into utter ridiculousness but this one doesn't. Everything fits together well including the over-all story. I really enjoyed this takeoff on the Alice mythos.
