Willow in Wonderland

Issue 1: Willow ends up in a dark form of Wonderland. She's attacked by flying monkeys and then some huge kind of sandworm-like beast so we have references right off to Oz and Dune. She meets some kind of being there and they end up killing some kind of beast. Then they meet their first Wonderland reference, a blue caterpillar who is smoking a pipe rather than a hookah.

Issue 2: Willow and her friend Marrak are being chased by a monster but Willow figures out what to do. The caterpillar gives them some advice on what lies beyond and how to prepare for it. The run in to flying nightmares.

Willow runs into a naga and ends up kissing her. It turns out she taught Willow a lot about magic. The naga leads her to what she calls a witch's paradise. The blade is reforged but thinks don't go well.

Issue 3: The portal opening doesn't work. Willow is invited to stay with the coven. Willow is then enchanted so she can breathe and swim underwater. It also seems possible that the others in the coven are just using Willow for their own ends, making her think everything is just fine and she wants to give up getting the magic back to Earth.

One problem lies with the artwork, or at least a little bit of it. Sometimes when Willow is shown from a distance the artist didn't bother to do her face. It's just blank.

Issue 4: Willow finds out she has been sort of mislead by her friend. She finds out she has to go elsewhere to keep searching for a way to bring magic back to the Earth. She also finds out that Marrak is definitely not trustworthy and is someone she may have to fight later on.

Issue 5: This is the final issue in this particular series. Willow has a major battle but that's not really the major point of the issue. It's a metaphysical question that Willow is having to deal with, reconciling the tremendous good that is inside her with the evil that is also there.

She has to consider if trying to bring magic back to the entire world is the way to go, or whether to proceed in small steps.

It's a good issue when considered on the metaphysical basis.
