I think there should be some kind of law against trying to do Alice in Wonderland as an opera. It just doesn't work. First, the text differs from the actual story. Then the people when they do speak just say the words in different tones and, at least to me, it just does not work at all. Period. The way it goes it just sounds to me like a bunch of people are trying to sing single words as loud as they can to be heard above the other people doing the same thing.

Some people might like this type of approach to Alice in Wonderland music but I really, really don't.
