Alice in Wonderland, Zenescope, Complete Series

Issue 1: The story opens with some teenagers walking together including one named Sammy who is mistrated by his drunken father. His mother does drugs and his father hits him. Then we're introduced to Callie. Violet wants to know about what has happened to Callie but she doesn't want to talk about it until they get to their new place of supposed refuge.

Meanwhile the Queen of Spades finds out the Hatter and the Jabberwocky are both out of the picture so it's time for her to make her move. At the same time the Hatter's hat makes its way into our world causing one death right off.

The Queen of Spades finds the Jabberwocky's lair and plans to use the source of his power to rule Wonderland forever.

Issue 2: Although the title is Alice in Wonderland, there are many things that are brand new and many experiences that Alice has that were not even hinted at in the original story. Also, Wonderland is extremely dark in this series. One of the things we see is that the concept of trusting no one applies to virtually everyone in Wonderland, even those with power. We are introduced to the Black Queen while Alice is meeting the Walrus.

The Jabberwocky wants the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat to hunt Alice down. There's a very fascinating background story to the Walrus. We also meet the Carpenter who is a murdering creep who talks in rhyme. Alice finally gets to some place she thinks she can rest, but it's doubtful she will be able to.

Issue 3: The Mad Hatter and the Queen of Spades are working together. He is later able to drug Alice and take her prisoner. The March Hare has made a deal to get Alice. The Hatter, though, has a device which will bring final death to anyone he stabs with it (the beings in Wonderland just regenerate after being killed, normally), and he immediately kills two of them. The Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter then get into a fight, but Alice flees.

Issue 4: Alice is still having a majorly hard time in Wonderland. She meets the Queen of Hearts who seems to be very nice to her. That's until she finds out how blood-thirsty the Queen is. Alice is put on trial and falls to pieces. Then she meets another Queen and is given a hit job to perform. A very, very strange series of comics.

Issue 5: Backstory on Alice's parents. Backstory on the Red Queen. Backstory on Wonderland from the Queen of Spades who now has Alice. A battle is about to begin.

Issue 6: There's a full-scale war going on in Wonderland. It's a closely fought war but Alice finally is able to get back at the Jabberwocky. However, there's more than one reality involved here and on Earth someone dies. A rather complicated story and excessively violent.
