Alien Nation: A Family Gathering

One of the most fascinating things talked about during this gathering is how sometimes one or the other of the actors, in full makeup, was taken somewhere and they could observe how regular people would react to them. One of the actors says the people sometimes had a look of fear on their faces when they saw the strange looking person. Intolerance of that which appears different is a growing problem in this country.

This tied in to the series and the movies, of course, since of one the major things the series dwelt on was the nature of prejudice and hatred against those who don't 'conform' in all ways to what the haters think is 'normal.'
