Mystery at the Medicine Wheel

This is another book in the series about Annette. In this one she spends way too much on a dress and her Aunt and Uncle send her to a ranch to work and earn some money to teach her about money in general. She meets a Native American who is rather unfriendly to her and then there's a thug who broke out of prison who also plays a major role in the story.

The medicine wheel is revealed to be a special spiritual place in the mountains that the Native American young man goes to. Annette learns a lot about hard work on the ranch. She also really enjoys riding a horse. She meets a girl that seems to want to keep to herself. All this comes together later in the story.

Annette's life is threatened by the thug and the question becomes whether or not she will actually survive this lesson in economics.
