One Step Beyond: The Death Waltz

It's obvious this takes place sometime during the wild west period or close thereafter.

This is during the Indian wars. The soldiers who got back state they killed over 20 of the enemy while losing three of their own. They are at Fort Union, New Mexico.

Eustus goes to meet his girlfriend (?) at the store. (The woman playing his girlfriend is Elizabeth Montgomery.) She doesn't seem to be a very nice person. There also seems to be some other guy interested in her.

The station head is her father and she's up to something. It seems she may be trying to maneuver things so Eustus isn't there for the ball in which they were supposed to announce their engagement. She also may have something else up her sleeve.

She's in bed and hears Eustus' voice.

She finds' out there was an ambush and Eustus is dead.

She says she plans to attend the ball anyhow. She claims she and Eustus were just good friends.

She asks the other guy she was interested in to take her to the ball. She hugs the other guy and then hears the voice of Eustus again.

The ghost of Eustus appears at the ball. Not everyone there can see his ghost, though.

She and Eustus dance. Then she dies.
