One Step Beyond: The Return

The episode opens with the narrator talking about methods of communication.

The actual title. The story takes place during the Korean war. Two guys are playing cards and listening to a record. One of the guys is really sick and tired of the song. He accuses the other guy of cheating. There's also a new guy in the group.

One of the guys has been hit and has been left behind.

The injured guy somehow hears voices. He couldn't see but moved toward the sound of the voices. (The injured guy is the one who kept winning at cards. The other player is still angry with him.)

One of the guys plays the missing guy's record. Anytime anyone talks about the missing guy he somehow seems to hear them and uses the sounds to figure out the way back to the proper trench. The narrator points out that at first the injured guy was about a mile away.
