If You See Sally

The episode opens with a salesman driving his car at night.

The narrator explains that something happened on that road seven years before. The narrator says a twelve-year-old boy in a family was killed the previous day.

A guy comes into the room, yells at a woman who was crying and then threatens the woman at the table. Her name is Sally. He blames Sally for the boy being killed. The woman standing up (I assume) is his wife and he pushes her away.

Sally seems to be their child also. The thuggish father says he wishes Sally was dead also. Sally is non-responsive. (Probably in shock.)

Sally is going to leave. She sees if her father will ask her to stay but he doesn't say a word.

Sally doesn't know where she's going to go. She's going to break all contact with the family but does tell her mother that if she needs her for something to put an ad in the newspaper.

This must be somewhat later. The wife says she's put an ad in the paper telling Sally to come home.

Sally has gotten a job at some kind of store.

She calls home. The mother says they want her to come home but Sally says she wants her father himself to ask her to come home. He does ask her to come home and she says she will. (I write this review as I watch the episode. I have a terrible feeling that she's going to die before she gets home and die on the road the salesman is driving on years later.)

She asks the boss for her salary (which she needs for bus fare) but he gets mad at her and says she has to wait until Friday. She leaves anyhow.

She finds a delivery guy that will give her a ride to a place not far from her house. She's been gone for about five days.

She tells the delivery guy what happened with her and her younger brother. There's a pretty heavy rainstorm going on. He loses control of the truck and it goes off the road.

(The image quality is not very good so it's hard to tell exactly what is going on.) It seems she has lived through the crash and is climbing up the incline. We see the salesman (who is on foot for some reason) pick her up as she seems to collapse.

He puts her in his car. She's suffered a head wound. She asks him to take her home which is just around the curve.

He runs to the house and knocks on the door. He tells them there's a girl in his car that is dying but neither of them seem to care. He and the father go to his car but Sally is missing. The cloth he used to sop up some of her blood seems to be totally clean.

The father has the salesman go to his house and sit down. The parents tell her that seven years ago their daughter was coming home. The accident happened and she tried to get the rest of the way home but she died before she could get there. The father tells him that every year she tries to get home and he is the seventh person who has seen her.
