The Stranger

The episode starts by showing an earthquake. Men have been flown in to help. The ruins must be flattened. The city is somewhere in Mexico. Newland talks about fingerprints and that no two sets of them can be exactly alike.

They set out to blow up a ruin but the guy working the box stops saying he thinks he's heard something. It had been 12 days since the earthquake, though, and the chance of anyone living that long is basically zero.

They follow the sound and find an entire family in the basement of a building. The father says something about a guy telling them not to yell, that it could start a collapse. There also seems to be a very short portion of the video that repeats.

They point to a guy's body and say that it was him that told them help would be coming. A rescuerer takes a fingerprint off the dead guy's body.

Checking is done on the fingerprint and it's from a convict who committed murder and ended up in prison.

The warden really hates Cole. Cole is going to leave his body to cancer research and his eyes to the blind. He soon finds out he will not be executed but will be in prison for the rest of his life.

The warden brings him a letter from the 17-year-old girl that was scheduled to receive one of his eyes and she says it is wonderful that he planned to do good things and change from his life of crime. While sleeping he hears a voice and wakes up and it seems to be the voice of the girl reading her letter to him.

He keeps hearing the voice repeat over and over.

The warden tells Cole he's taken the letter out of Cole's room.

He goes back to his cell but continues to hear the girl's voice.

Somehow Cole tried to escape but died in the process. The former warden says that Cole was seen once before helping fight a fire. There's other reports about Cole helping someone. The program also says that something like that happened to another guy (but he stayed in crime, unlike Cole.)
