Girl in the Box: No Bullies On My Block!
Danielle is ten and has a problem with being bullied by another girl named Gia. Danielle also has a hearing problem with has brought its own share of bullying. At a sort of flea market she gets a box which turns out to be quite magical, containing a miniature girl who is able to give Danielle some solid advice and other help.
This book is obviously about bullying. Fortunately Danielle has loving parents who are willing to help.
The concept of bullying is examined and it shows that at least sometimes there is a reason, sort of, for the actions of the bully.
The story is pretty good although a few times it almost reads like something from an actual pamphlet about bullying more than an actual story about it.
