Hannah is a young girl that wants to stay 'invisible' in school, sort of under-the-radar approach. Chip is a boy in her class that simply won't let her alone. When Hannah was very young there was an accident and her legs were badly scarred and this has led to her being bullied since the very first day of kindergarten.
To make things worse Hannah's parents are having some kind of problem with her father starting to drink a lot. Chip ends up getting Hannah to participate in some things in school but it usually doesn't work well for her which makes things even worse for her.
The bullying gets worse and rather violent. Chip's own troubles are revealed.
It's a fairly good book about bullying.
