My Little Chef episode 9
Genzo, etc., have come to Tokyo to visit the restaurant. Kenzo is very worried about seeing Kensaku.
Kensaku is behind on payments to the bank and has to come up with 8 million yen in ten days. If he misses one more payment the bank will foreclose and sell the restaurant and the property.
Her adoptive mother wants Seri to keep her father's recipes, indicating she is all right with Seri's interest in talking to her biological mother.
Seri wants to cook her adoptive mother and Kenzo a dinner.
The trademarked color changes and eyes sparkling when Seri figures out what to fix.
Kenzo and Kensaku talk about why Kenzo didn't tell him about his inability to taste salt.
Todo finds out the bad economic news that Kensaku has been hiding from everyone.
Kenzo borrows a uniform. He plans to cook something.
Kenzo can tell just by looking at what is in the refrigerator that the restaurant is having financial troubles. The house the restaurant is in belongs to Kenzo and he tells Kensaku that he can sell the house if he needs to.
Finally everybody knows about the financial problems.
He explains to them what the bank is demanding and says that it would cost the restaurant it's charm, but everyone wants to go ahead and do anything they can just to keep the place open.
The bank just want the property and doesn't really even want to give them a chance.
The situation at the restaurant is falling apart. Everyone is working too hard; two of the guys are working at another job for additional income, and everyone is getting totally worn out.
The workers have collected 1.2 million yen, and Kensaku somehow came up with 4 million more, but that still leaves them short.
He tells them he is going to close the restaurant. He knows that the two men have been working at night (and really hurting their hands). Seri collapses.
Kensaku talks to everyone and tells them that they will be closing in ten days.
They decide to go back to only three reservations a day.
Nazuna writes to Seri's mother telling her the restaurant will soon be closing and she should come there to taste Seri's cooking (while there's still time, basically.)
