The Amazing Deer Man, episode 7

0

Hotta asks to be allowed to leave school. (In episode 6, she asked Ogawa to quit his job, so there's obviously a translation problem somewhere.)

With this line it seems that the correct translation was the one related to her leaving school.

She says she was just joking.

The next day Hotta is not in class.

The one Ogawa thought was the fox messenger shows up.

The woman explained that Hotta showed up at her family's temple where girls were practicing kendo.

He doesn't think he's good enough to be her teacher.

He asks the girls in the kendo club where they go after practicing, figuring Hotta might go to the same place.

He searches through a store for her. The room he is looking into is a karaoke room.

Michiko finds Hotta in a public bathhouse.

They talk to her.

Michiko offers to let Hotta stay at her place that night. The director of the school talks to the parents when they are reluctant to let Hotta stay.

His head is still that of a deer.

Then he says he will quit his job, so the real translation is totally up in the air.

She takes a bath. In Japan, a person actually washes themselves before they get into the tub. The tub is meant to be a place of relaxation rather than cleaning.

Ogawa talks to the deer again.

She overhears Michiko and Ogawa talking about what the deer said.

Ogawa tells the director that Hotta came to school.

Hotta takes an art class.

It seems Hotta is going to stay with them another night.

She asks Michiko what kind of person Ogawa is.

Hotta catches up to Ogawa.

She asks him not to quit his job.

She drags him by the hand into the school.

They're facing a mirror.

She, also, has been marked.

She says she's the deer's emissary.

She recounts what the deer said to her.

The first person to call her name would bring a message, and it's Ogawa who does.

She tells him that if he completes his task, she will be unmarked/freed from whatever.

They let Michiko in on the story.

Hotta explains some more.

She draws a map of sorts to explain the difference between a messenger and an emissary.

She says the mice have an unauthorized messenger to try and block Ogawa.

The mouse person that stole the eyes left some kind of meeting first in order to hide the eyes somewhere.

He says the mouse's messenger is the head of their school.
