Gokusen, episode 2

Giving "a bad hair day" an entirely new depth of meaning.

Referring to her grandfather.

The guy she likes (who's a cop) is riding a bike rather than taking the bus this day.

There were posters making fun of the head teacher and there's also posters making fun of her.

She's thinking to herself. The kids have given her a nickname, Yamaguchi Kumiko being shortened to Yankumi.

They've "decorated" the head teacher's car.

They're at the goukon, ("group date.")

While at the date there is some trouble inside, then a gang fight outside. Yamaguchi recognizes the student being beat-up and helps him to avoid being picked up by the police, but the next day the police are at the school since they recognized the school uniforms the boys were wearing.

One of the teachers talks about one of Yamaguchi's students that was expelled from another school for hitting a teacher.

She's mad at herself for dropping into Yakuza-type speech (which she does rather frequently, actually), and she's trying to talk herself out of having any interest in the detective.

Yamaguchi finds out more of the background behind the expulsion incident.

One of her students has been called out for a fight by a student from a different school, and none of the students in 3-D (Yamaguchi's class) offered to go with him to help him fight the guy.

A whole bunch of guys from the other school were beating up on her student. Now that Yamaguchi has arrived, the situation changes rather quickly. She ends up scaring all of them away.
