Gokusen, Episode 7

Yamaguchi is sneaking in; she's late.

It's time for parent-teacher conferences. Needless to say, for her it descends into chaos.

There's some girl waiting by the gate to the school.

The girl runs to Sawada as soon as she sees him. It turns out she's his sister.

It turns out Sawada is living alone.

There's another day of parent-teacher conferences.

One of the parents gives her a video-dating service tape.

It turns out one of the teachers at the school is on the tape.

She invites Sawada home to eat with her family.

Sawada lives alone, estranged from his family, and there's not much in his apartment.

It's the final day for parent-teacher conferences.

Yamaguchi calls Sawada's mother and then goes to visit him in his apartment and to fix him dinner. Sawada explains why he doesn't get along with his father.

Sawada reveals some more about his father after he gets a call from his sister and he and Yamaguchi rush to his home.

Instead of really being concerned about Natsumi, Sawada's sister, he decides to start complaining to Sawada about things he had done.

The boys in the class may appear to the other teachers to be nearly worthless, but Yamaguchi knows they are not. She calls some of them to help her search for Sawada's sister. The boys she called start calling other boys in the class and soon the entire group is out looking.

Natsumi has gone with some others to a bad bar and Yamaguchi and the boys find out.

Natsumi tries to leave but one of the local thugs wants to stop her. Sawada shows up and a fight, him against them all, begins.

Police show up and he tells his sister to run away.

Sawada is arrested by the police and expelled from the school. (Note: this is possible in Japan, but not really in the U.S. Japanese schools sort of feel they hold a responsibility for students even when they are not on school grounds, whereas in the U.S. schools don't, and a student who gets in legal trouble but for something off the school grounds is not punished by the school.)

He was also expelled without a hearing, which is something that would not happen in the U.S.

She goes to talk to the policeman she has a crush on and then talks to Sawada who wants her to keep quiet about his sister being in that place (she could be expelled from school also if the school found out.) He also can't leave the holding area because his father refuses to pick him up.

Yamaguchi goes to talk to Sawada's father.

She really goes off on Sawada's father.

He doesn't listen to what Yamaguchi has to say and so his daughter then starts to tell him off.

The whole class shows up to ask the father to go and pick up Sawada (Shin).

His father finally goes to pick him up from the jail (or, at least, to make sure he gets out of jail; he drives off without Sawada).

It also turns out that he's no longer expelled. The policeman Yamaguchi likes talked to the head teacher to get the expulsion retracted, and when Shin gets back to the class the other students hold a celebration in honor of his return.
