Gokusen, Episode 9

Yamaguchi is late for a staff meeting. The school's volleyball team is going on in some competition. Some of the members are in Yamguchi's class, and the head teacher wants them off the team to avoid any possible trouble from their behavior. One of the teachers make reference to something that happened the previous year.

The boys want cheerleaders for the game, but it's an all-boys school and so there are no girls to be cheerleaders.

She tries to talk the other two female teachers into also being cheerleaders.

However, the other two women teachers won't put on the uniforms, and the male teachers look at Yamaguchi and all walk away (with their cameras), while the head teacher thinks she's trying to look like Sailor Moon. She offers her class a party with college cheerleaders if they will be male cheerleaders for the tournament.

There's also some mysterious guy that wants to cause trouble for the school.

Only Yamaguchi's students "volunteer" to be cheerleaders and they are horribly pathetic.

There is opposition to the boys being cheerleaders, though. It turns out, though, that the Head Teacher gives the guys some tips on cheerleading.

Yamaguchi gets jealous.

The banner has been torn up, probably by the "mysterious guy" and the punks he hangs around with who happen to be dropouts from another high school.

The detective shows up to videotape the cheerleading practice, but his partner, a former cheerleader, takes over cheerleading activities. Badly. Very badly.

Two of Yamaguchi's students are meeting the other gang.

The gang leader wants to sabotage the competition. He had been a student at the school before and got thrown out. He was on the volleyball team and got into a fight or something with someone on the other team and broke his collarbone. Either he got kicked out of school, or the school got kicked out of the competition, and the result was as expected; he was kicked out. Shin and Uchi, another student, want to stop the other guy from doing something so serious that the police could end up being involved.

Shin thinks the guy might try to hurt the gym teacher.

The teacher explains to them his side of the story. Yamaguchi wants the teacher to apologize to the student. He won't apologize, though.

She finds the kid (Kurosaki) in the school at night practicing volleyball.

Two of the boys get beaten up by the Kurosaki, though.

The teacher apologies to Kurosaki. Kurosaki viciously attacks him, though.

Yamaguchi arrives just in time as the gang has started beating up Shin and Uchi by now. One by one she beats up the gang members.

The gang runs away, leaving Kurosaki alone, which was just the point Yamaguchi wanted to make; who were his true friends and who weren't. She gives him a real good dressing-down for his attitude about things.
