From the Heart episode 5

Mayuko walks to work, not knowing that she's walking into what is becoming a very bad situation. Almost everybody at work has seen the article.

Junichi talks to his friend and they agree that her time at her current job is going to be very limited.

The slimy politician tells Mayuko's father that Shinichi has ties to the person that wrote the article and that he should be "careful with him."

The situation worsens at work, particularly with the woman that didn't like Mayuko in the first place.

The autistic girl from the place where Mayuko first seemed she was going to be working at comes to meet her after work.

The father is showing his usual complete lack of sympathy and understanding. He also says he doesn't want Mayuko to see Shinichi any more. Period.

Mayuko goes to visit Shinichi to get his advice about what to do with her work situation. She really wants to keep the job and she wants him to keep helping her.

She talks to him about how she reacted when the woman at work told her that she was "irritating," how it brings back bad memories that play over and over like a videotape, and he notes that the memories seem to affect her not just mentally but all through her body.

Jun confronts the woman who wrote the article on his sister and he wants to find out her relation to Shinichi.

Jun goes to confront Shinichi later. Jun admits that Shinichi had nothing to do with the article, and he tells him why he's no longer a doctor. Further, he wants him to stay away from Mayuko until he gets his feelings "resolved."

Her parents get on her, wanting her to quit her job.

At work, Keiko, the woman who really doesn't like Mayuko, tells her to input some data and fax something to a client and not to change anything, that by law only a licensed meteorologist can make a forecast. Mayuko, though, goes ahead and makes changes. She realizes it, though, and undoes the change.

Shinichi is asked by his friend to go to where Mayuko works and explain autism to them after he gets a call from the boss there wanting to know moer. Shinichi arrives just as Keiko is assailing Mayuko for not changing the forecast when she herself had told her she was not allowed to change it.

Shinichi meets with her parents and Jun, saying that Mayuko wants to continue working and that maybe the parents are more concerned about themselves than about Mayuko. He offers to become her doctor.
