Otousan, final episode
He checks a bus to see if she is on it, but she's not.
He's too late.
He asks Shiro's permission to marry Kei.
She plans to go with Jiro. She's going to teach piano to kids there.
They plan to have a wedding, but Shiro wants Jiro's parents to attend.
She's trying to figure out what to do about her husband.
She's going to separate from him for a while.
Satoshi visits Yu.
Not the question I expected. It turns out they were bullying him because he still believes in Santa.
Shiro becomes involved.
Shiro tells him to stand up to the bullies.
The mother-in-law-from-hell tries to interfere.
No matter how many times they knocked him down, he got right back up and stuck to his guns. The bullies got tired of it and left.
Satoshi thanks Yu for her advice about standing up to the bullies.
Makoto calls Akira.
He still wants to marry Makoto.
Slightly before the wedding.

Originally his parents said they would not show up, but they do.
And they go right after him.
The father says the wedding is canceled.
Shiro goes after the parents.
At least they leave, although still saying they won't approve of the marriage. They're no longer trying to stop it, though.
Satoshi is sleeping at Shiro's house.
Satoshi wants to live with Yu.
He's been working at night.
The two of them worked so long they both fell asleep in the shop. The next morning Akira helps out.
Makoto and Yu have gone in search of Tamako. The punk is with them, subdued.
Yu sees Tamako.
Makoto, meanwhile, is helping someone who's had a heart attack or something.
They've been working all this time on making a new soba. He names it after his deceased wife.
Akira says she's going to get a divorce.
She wants to continue to work with him.
She realizes what her real dream is.
Ohba is going to leave.
Yu and Makoto arrive.
Tamako refused to return with them.
Shiro is going to go after Tamako.
The loser got left behind.
He meets her.
He wants her to try his new soba.
He tries to convince her to return with him.
Her main concern (her son had died before she met Shiro).
Kei has shown up.
She loves the new soba.
They're all eating together. (She hasn't gone to Africa yet).v
Makato wants to go back to nursing.
Taking care of the house is going to fall to Tamako.
He asks Tamako to marry him. She says yes.

He says really nice things to each of the girls.

Tamako ends up working as the waitress while Akira helps make the soba. She will take over the shop after Shiro dies. Kei goes to Africa, and Makoto gets a job as a nurse. Satoshi continues to live with Yu, and Akira continues to work at the soba shop.
They've dressed Shiro up as Santa.
