Dark Shadows episode 18

Roger knocks on Vickie's door. Roger says he'll meet her in the drawing room. David is skulking around as usual. He goes into the drawing room and tells his father he's sorry. David then asks him if it hurts and Roger says a little, especially his arm. David then asks him why he wants to talk to Vickie.

The brat then says maybe he's not sorry and maybe his wishes that Roger, at which point he doesn't blurt out the word died. Then he goes to Vickie's room. Vickie tells him Roger was almost killed in the accident. David lies and says he had nothing to do with the accident.

She tells him that no one is accusing him but himself. David asks Vickie what if it wasn't an accident and she says Roger would go to the police, they would investigate and arrest the would-be murderer. She tells him the person would end up in jail. He then asks her if she knew who did it would she tell. She answers that of course she would.

The brat then says that Vickie and his father are both the same about wanting to send him away.

Roger talks to Vickie. He says he drove his car earlier in the day and the brakes were in perfect condition. He also notes that Burke wanted to meet with him at the Blue Whale. They talk some more and Vickie asks what kind of tool would be necessary to remove the part (Roger showed her the sketch of the missing brake part) and she says Burke was holding a wrench.

The brat is playing with a model car and he steps on it on purpose.

The questions Roger asks are very similar to what a prosecuting attorney would ask. The circumstantial evidence against Burke is very strong even though it was David who was the would-be killer. Roger says he will confront Devlin and force him to tell the truth and then get the police involved. He tells Vickie he wants her to go with him.

David throws the squashed car out the window. David wants to know what Vickie told Roger. He says he doesn't want to be friends with her. He tells her he crushed a car and threw it out the window. Roger leaves and David says I hate him. Then there's a good camera technique when the camera focuses on the sketch of the missing part and then moves to show the brat with the part in his hand.
