Episode 214
Victoria has come to the Old House to see if David is there. The doors close behind her and she can't get them opened. She and Barnabas talk about the Old House. Barnabas says the Old House was a marriage of the elegance of Europe and the vigor of the New World.
He also talks about where various construction materials for the house came from. He also talks about the 'hatred and distrust' that lived beneath that roof. (This whole section is really well done and very interesting.)
Roger gets back from a business trip. Caroline catches Roger up on what has been going on and how Willie has disappeared. She also tells him that Barnabas has arrived.
Barnabas meets Caroline and Roger for the first time.
Victoria thinks there's something strange about Barnabas. She says Barnabas acts as if he had actually lived in the Old House. Roger says that the room they are in was used by Jerimiah Collins as his office. Roger looks at the ring Barnabas is wearing. Roger asks Barnabas why he came to Collinwood. Barnabas says he'd like to get into some kind of business in the area.
Roger, Victoria and Caroline talk about how much Barnabas resembles the painting.
