Dark Shadows

This is the first book in the series. The cover is misleading as Barnabas has not yet appeared. The story is about Vickie first appearance at Collinwood. Willie is not there; his role is filled by a guy named Matt Morgan. Roger is as nasty as ever and shows he's working on being as good a pervert as he is a drunk.

Ernest is a musician cousin who is staying there at the house. Vickie ends up falling for him, but a question arises as to exactly what happened to his former wife, and did he actually kill her.

David is shown to have a reason for being rather nasty early in the story, but his behavior does change somewhat.

Vickie has another problem in that it seems that someone is doing their best to kill her. Even Eliszbeth seems to be hiding some kind of secret which ends up being related to everything else going on. The whole thing ends up being a mystery and it's quite interesting.
