The title of this story is The Glove.

A floating glove scares Elizabeth. It then attacks Roger and Barnabas but Barnabas knocks some sense into it. It turns out Elizabeth had found a book that had the glove in it. Barnabas examines the book and knows whose it was.

It belonged to a cousin of Barnabas who was hung. Then somehow in his coffin Barnabas is able to time travel to the past during his cousin's time. A guy is jealous of Chester, Barbabas Collin's ancestor, winning the heart of a pretty girl where he failed to do the same.

Barnabas finds he cannot change the past but he can save a man's soul.
