Gold Key Dark Shadows #14

The title of the story is The Mystic Painting. Elizabeth finds an old painting of Tobias Collins in the attic and Barnabas something in the portrait is calling to him. Later Elizabeth is able to remove the portrait part of the painting and underneath finds a place called Collingreen.

Then Barnabas is transported back in time via memory two hundred years to Collingreen. At that time Barnabas is a vampire already. A painter has fallen in love with Barnabas's cousin. Her father disapproves of it.

Barnabas changes into a bat during a full moon and the painter sees him. He finds Sarah dead and the Uncle thinks the painter killed her. He kills the artist but not before the artist claims Barnabas killed the woman and he curses him until the murderer is uncovered.

Barnabas returns to the present and then again goes back to the past. The ghost of the painter vows to destroy Barnabas. Barnabas then again returns to the present and the ghost of the artist comes through the painting after him.

Barnabas finds out the truth about Sara's death and he ends up going back in time yet again. He has to find the real killer to ease the spirits of Sara and the artist.
