The Missing Manuscript is the title of the story. The whole deal about Barnabas working for years on a history book is exploded as it's revealed that he hasn't even written one single page. A guy is going to call him on it and Angelique is doing her best to make sure Barnabas gets embarrased at the very least.

There is a book available but to get it Barnabas needs to go back in time (which proves remarkably easy). Angelique is still trying to stop him but he's able to save a woman from a burning house, get the book and return to the present, thus clearing up the matter of his missing manuscript.

This is also the final book in the series.
