Heiress of Collinwood

I have read other books by the author and liked them but this one was somehow not as satisfying. It starts off with Victoria working at a news station. She gets news about Collinwood and goes there, finding the house abandoned. All the Collins family have disappeared. If she can prove she is who she says she is she will inherit the entire estate.

This sets Vickie off on a hunt for proof of who she is and this leads her to her former orphanage and even to a gypsy camp. Barnabas is heavily involved and says he loves her.

There's also the presence of a totally nasty, totally nuts mad scientist want-to-be and his ailing wife. Even Angelique ends up in the story.

It's an okay story bu I prefer ones where more of the regular people are involved.
