The Night Whispers

This story has Barnabas and Willie back at Collinwood. Barnabas is no longer a vampire. There's a storm and its possible tha tthe energy from that has an effect on the surroundings as Barnabas starts to hear a woman's voice.

It turns out she's from Barnabas' past when he (pre-vampire) and some friends when to Martinique. One of the group does something to a female slave ( my guess is that he raped her.) The voice Barnabas hears is her voice. One by one the men in the group get sick and start to die, saying the words 'I must be heard' over and over.

Barnabas escapes and now the woman confronts him. It sort of becomes a question of who has killed the most people with Barnabas winning that argument hands down. The women has stared into his eyes and sees what he has done and his torment which ends up driving her insane (or more insane, at least.)

Jonathan Frid's voice is very different but John Karlan's voice is pretty much the same as it was. As far as the actual content of the story it's very good. It shows that Barnabas was exposed to the supernatural even when a young man and everything he has done in his life still lives in his memories.

It's a very good story.
