Dark Shadows Bloopers and Treasures

Bloopers

There are 8 topics on this DVD. These include bloopers, outtakes, music videos, game shows, promos, comedy tonight, pillow ad and merchandise.

The scenes are all very short. There's a variety of mistakes such as a crewman walking across the stage while filming goes on. There's verbal flubs such as Barnabas Cousin instead of Barnabas Collins. There's also forgetting lines. People trip and run into things. Flies land on people. There's their lighting problems, both electrical and candle-oriented. There are even problems with doors not closing. Camera problems also happen.

What's really neat is how the actors manage to cover their mistakes (or ignore them entirely.)

Most of the treasures are only a few seconds long. There are a bunch where someone walks by the front of the camera during the actual filming. The verbal flubs can' t really be scanned since they are verbal and the scans aren't. There's also a bunch of times when one of the actors or actresses trips on something. Flies bothering people also feature on many of the treasures.

Candles not going out or staying on also proved to be a problem many times. Then there's problems with doors that won't stay closed and bits of scenery falling over. Then there's odd noises and times when the camera work was less than stellar.

There's supposed to be fog. Where is the fog? Hiding?

Outtakes

There were a lot of these visible on the Dark Shadows coffin collection.

This is that collection as sold by Amazon. Every single episode. There's also a lot of extras in the set.

Music Videos

These two seem to be a spoof opening to the music videos section.

Aren't music videos supposed to have music? The first one just has Barnabas talking.

This one has Pansy sort of singing. Sort of. Well, maybe a bit on the wrong side of sort of.

The beautiful Josette's theme plays.

16

The next one is background music.Barnabas talks above that.

The next one is Quentin's theme with him talking.

The next one is the music heard playing in the Blue Whale.

The London Bridge is Falling Down song.

The next is music with a voice over by Barnabas.

Happy Birthday is sung to David.

Quentin is in the next one. He actually sings and he has a pretty good voice. There's also a woman singing with him and she's pretty good too.

Angelique's turn this time. This one's just music.

Then it's David singing a song to the tune of Yankee Doodle.

Bits of background sounds and then Barnabas talking.

Then it's back to Patsy and her 'singing.'

The women sings something I'm not familiar with.

Another video with a musical background and Barnabas talking.

In Salem

This part is actually about Salem where the witch trials and executions were held.

The narrator is Lara Parker who played Angelique in the series.

She goes into the history of Salem and the people accused of witchcraft. She visits a shop for witch-related items. One really good thing she does is bring up the Law of Three. Witches believe that whatever you do to someone, good or evil, will revisit you with three times the strength of what you did. Thus, if you do evil, you will suffer three times as much evil yourself.

One of the speakers points out that if a person was found guilty everything they owned got split the government and the accusers.

Game Shows: What's My Line?

The first game show is What's My Line? This one is from 1970. It's Jonathan Frid. He talks about how they are starting to make a movie.

These are from another episode of What's My Line?

Then there's a third appearance. She's appearing after the first movie had finished being made.

Game Shows: Generation Gap

I've never heard of this show. I had to look it up on Google. This show is from 1969. Jonathan Frid appears briefly. The panelist is asked a question about who just appeared.

The following week Jonathan Frid appears as a contestant with the 'old-timers.' Jonathan Frid is asked what popular group recorded in he previous year Back in the U.S.S.R. He doesn't know it was the Beatles. Then in a quick-question round he gets a question right about In What Country are the Halls of Montezuma? He also gets right a question about in what country was Che Guevera killed? He also identifies the singers on the stage as Gladys Knight and the Pips. The team he's on loses to the younger generation team.

Then there's another episode. The actor who played David is on the young generation team. He doesn't do very well on the questions. He went 0 for 2. Also the team he was on lost.
