Dark Shadows: Year One #1

This matches the growing trend to do 'Year One' issues of comics, showing established characters as they begin their careers or whatever.

The story starts off with Barnabas about to get married to Angelique and then moves into a flashback. In this she seduces him and has sex with him. Later, he finds out that she is his fiancee's maid. She becomes obsessed with him.

He becomes very worried when his fiancee, Josette, arrives, worrying about if she will find out he had sex with Angelique. Jeremiah warns her so she does a spell to cause him misery. He has a duel with Barnabas and loses. Barnabas finds out Angelique is a witch and he fires several shots into her.

(Which is a bit of a problem, I think, because as far back as this event takes place I don't think they had guns that could fire more than one shot at a time without being reloaded. He fires three rounds into her without reloading.)
