Eureka: Episode 6: Dr. Nobel

The episode starts out with Zoe having to do community service since she got into trouble for pulling a fire alarm during her IQ test. There's a subplot involving a woman and the scientist from below.

A scientist once created a doomsday device. Then he didn't win the Nobel prize as he thought he would, and he's no longer quite all right upstairs. That wouldn't be a problem if Fargo had not set the device in motion. The people in Eureka are getting panicky. The scientist is called in, but his mental condition prevents him from being of any aid. They even try a machine that is supposed to allow Carter to read the scientist's mind.

An attempt to shut down the device fails and Carter has to add yet another in the running gag line of his jeep being severely damaged or destroyed in the line of duty.

It's a really good episode and shows just how much some scientists hunt for both knowledge and fame, and how that can backfire on them.

Fargo's new office.

Of course it's Fargo who discovers the doomsday device and sets it off.

Some kind of firing devices begin deploying from the ground.
