Lily and the Pesky Plant

This is one of the books in the Fairies series from Walt Disney. Lily, a plant-talent fairy, finds a seed while she's out and brings it back and plants it in her garden. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but once the seed sprouts and grows it develops into a plant that stinks terribly, then ends up shedding pollen and making everyone sneeze.

The other fairies want her to get rid of the plant but she doesn't want to, curious about what the plant will develop into. It turns out really good for everyone in the end.

This story also carries a very strong message in the style of older fairy tales. Just because something is ugly on the outside doesn't mean it is ugly on the inside, and things (and people) need to be given a chance to develop and let their positive traits come out.

A neat story and beautiful artwork.
