Tokyopop: Vidia and the Fairy Crown

Tokypop is issue manga based on the Disney Fairies series of books. One is out and one more, at least, is planned. What I am having a bit of difficulty understanding is why the books are manga versions of two text books that have been issued already.

Also, the original books had beautiful illustrations. Numerous Tinkerbell-related books have come out, with most of them using the same kind of artwork the film did. A manga does not, of course, being black-and-white, so right off some of the effect of the Tinkerbell material is lost. Actually, in the manga version Tinkerbell looks almost anorexic compared to her normal appearance.

I'm not saying that the manga is bad. It's another approach to story telling, but why aren't they using anything original?
