Fairy Realm: The Charm Bracelet

This is the first in a series of books under the Fairy Realm name, and sets up the entire series. Jessie and her mother are visiting her grandmother, the mother wanting the grandmother to sell her place and move in with them after having an accident.

Things are not as they seem, though, for the grandmother is really from a royal line of fairies. There's an evil cat and an evil sister, a talking horse, an elf, a palace cook, an attempted coup, and a variety of other things that tie the world of fairy in to the world of humans.

The black-and-white drawings are extremely well done, and the story itself is very good. A promising beginning to the series.
