The Gospel According to The Hunger Games Trilogy

The book was written before the release of the movies and it's possible some of the material might have been different if the author had waited till they were all released.

The author notes that there are basic Biblical themes that are teachable in the series. There's an overview of the series, the background of the author, and material on the audience.

The author says that young and young adults enjoy the series the most. It has violence, environmental abuse and little connection between the politicians and the common peopole.

It also notes the massive gap between the rich (people in the Capitol) and the poor (all the rest.) There is also a loss of hope that the future will be any better.

Because of the use of alcohol, nudity and violence it's not good for younger children.

There is no point-by-point Christian equivilant for the people in the book. There is not even any mention of religion in the series.

There is suffering and loss and sacrifice for loved ones.

Very rough relationships can be found between the tributes (gladiators), Katniss (Moses and Jesus), Haymitch (John the Baptist) and Snow (the Pharoah.)

There are also some discussion questions towards the end of the book.
